Professional Cutting, Coloring, & Styling Services
In September of 1996, Carolyn Vinck started her career at the renown Carsten Institute of Hair & Beauty, located in Tempe, Arizona. Here she participated in multiple acclaimed training programs focusing on European techniques.
During this period she was awarded first place at the Carsten Institute Color & Cut Competition, by judges from Vidal Sasoon, Goldwell Color, & Cutter’s Hair.
For the following nine months Carolyn personally assisted Carsten Wilms, learning to perfect the art and science of French-Cutting Technique. After completing her training in August 1998, she was invited to work at Carsten’s in Phoenix, Arizona, where she began developing her own aesthetic style and building her clientele.
During this time she furthered her experience through classes taught by celebrity makeup artist Elke Von Frudenburg, as well as continuing education seminars by Aveda, Goldwell Color, & Lanza. In addition to her regular services, Carolyn was the Stylist for several fashion shows including Victoria’s Secret, Carsten, & J. Crew, as well as various weddings and media productions.
Drawn by her love of the ocean, Carolyn left Arizona in July of 2000 and boldly ventured out to the sunny west coast, where she quickly acquired a chair in The Oasis Salon, in Newport Beach, California.

Taking on a new opportunity, she became educated in an additional French-Cutting Technique developed by Jacques Dessange, as well as furthering her knowledge in Aveda, TIGI, Lanza, Rene Furterer, & Goldwell Color Products and application techniques. She developed clientele in Orange County, San Diego, Los Angeles, and San Francisco.
After two successful years away, she returned to Arizona in April of 2002. Shortly after acquiring a chair at the Atlantis Salon & Healing Spa, in the Arrowhead Lakes Community of Northwest Glendale, Carolyn was appointed as Salon Manager and Educator. There she developed a specialized training program to provide “real world” experience for beginning stylists. In May 2004, she started her own salon called Carolyn’s Hair Design where she continues a tradition of quality, combining acclaimed European styling techniques with contemporary fashion and style.
